The Historical Society of Mount Airy, Maryland relies totally on the kindness of our members, visitors and friends to fund the expenses of preserving our collection of artifacts, operating the museum, producing quality exhibits, publishing our newsletter, and putting on programs. Admission to our museum and programs is free.

Donate Items or Photographs
Visitors come to Mount Airy to learn about our town's history. They want to see the tools used and the goods and materials sold and manufactured by our forefathers. They also want to see photographs that show the faces, homes, businesses, farms and factories of the people who built Mount Airy and made it what it is today.
The Historical Society of Mount Airy, Maryland is always seeking photographs of the people, places, and events of Mount Airy and items from people, businesses, schools, events, military units, sports teams and the railroad from Mount Airy and the surrounding area. So, if you are cleaning out that attic or basement and find old photographs or artifacts related to Mount Airy, please consider donating those items to the Historical Society of Mount Airy, Maryland. You can complete the Photograph Worksheet here, then print and bring with you to the museum with your photographs.
If you would like to make a donation of an item or artifact, please help us by submitting a Deed of Gift and a Donor Questionnaire along with the item or items you would like to give. Donations can be brought to the museum anytime we are open, or by contacting us to set up an appointment. Thank you for helping us preserve Mount Airy's history.
