The Mount Airy Museum is located in the historic Mount Airy Station at 1 N. Main Street.  It is a local history museum dedicated to the preservation of our town's rich and varied past.  It provides a valuable resource for educational, historical and genealogical research.  One of the featured exhibits is a working HO scale model of the railyard that had been located in the downtown area.

Admission is FREE!  Donations of artifacts, memorabilia, photos, etc.  are welcome and needed. You can bring items anytime the museum is open or contact us to set up a time. Click here for information and forms for donations.

 

The museum contains many artifacts including Mount Airy business related items, railroad implements, clothing, textiles, and furniture. The museum also has a collection of photographs, books, and newspapers dating back to the early days of the town.

Museum Hours of Operation:

· Saturdays    12 - 4 p.m.

· Sundays      12 - 4 p.m.
And during town events

Note: Museum can also be opened by appointment for scout groups, civic groups schools, churches, families, etc. Contact us to schedule.
